What do you do on bed rest?

Week one... Bed rest started Tuesday, which was easy because we got home from hospital at 3am after receiving meds to stop contractions... What they don't tell you is that it's a temporary fix and may not work for more than a few hours... So bed rest here I am.

I've spent it so far sleeping, reading, playing a few games and working on the baby blanket I thought I had weeks to finish... What do you do when on bed rest??? I'm sitting in the living room unable to sleep, while everyone else in the house is sleeping... Just curious what other mom's are doing or have done to stay sane during this process? Movies and soaps don't do it for me...

I was on best with my first three last 3 months i was strictly only allowed out of bed to go to the bathroom or make myself something to eat other than that I needed to be laying down and this was 6 years ago so before Netflix lol i watched TV movies crochet a blanket did arts and crafts and slept it was hard but very worth it this time around I wish I had a few days to lay down and be lazy but that hasn't been an option good luck

I was on bedrest for 3 weeks with my last birth. My doctor told me that I needed to be laying down the majority of the time and needed to NOT even be sitting up in bed. They had a good explanation for why but i don't remember it. So i watched lots of tv, read books and had many many melt downs. It was absolutely awful. I felt like I was a prisoner to the couch and bed and had to be laying down. Talk to your doctor to see how serious you need to take the hed rest (ie... laying down or can you sit up all day)

I've been on bed rest for 5 months (I'm 40 weeks today!) I made it through by changing up what I did every day . *inviting friends over *knitting *painting/making crafts *getting baby stuff ready (washing clothes, organizing) *reading * watching t.v. series *Playing card games with my wife *meditating - and let's face it, some times you NEED to get out of the house, so I drive to the coffee shop down the street and use their WiFi or do some journaling. You have to relax, but keep busy or else you'll go crazy or get depressed. So just take this time to work on projects or learn something new! It will go by fast-ish.  I hope I've been of some help!
