Thank u everyone for your feedback. Indeed very helpful, guess i'll have to go with the medela pump in style since most of you are recommending it.
Check with your insurance becuase some companies let you pick your own. Of course they give you a price cap and it usually has to be new but, they reimburse you for the cost.
I absolutely loved my madela electric pump when I stopped exclusively breastfeeding my first. I plan to use it this time too! Oh and nothing went out of shape lol. I really tried with the Philips Avent manual pump but found it difficult to use and couldn't express much at all. It's totally each to their own but I'd personally recommend a good electric pump. Good luck :)
Honestly, since insurance companies are required to cover the cost of a breast pump I just went with what they offered, electronic Medela in style. If I don't like it at least it wasn't a waste of my money!
I've used both as well. Electric is the best way never made anything out of shape... Also just an FYI for whoever is going to breast feed .... You can call up your insurance and they will give you a brand new one for free.... That's what I did and got a medella dual electric pump for free saved us 300 dollars
Had anyone used the symphony one I heard great things about jt
my bf got me an electric one and this is my first time pumping im going to.try it... hopefully it works great !
I have a hygeia. I haven't ised it yet (just picked it up). My insurance covered their double electric.
I've never heard of them changing the shape.
Thanks for asking this question! I'm a FTM and ordered the Medela In Style based on reviews since none of my female relatives breastfed and none of my female friends have kids yet.
I have used the medela pump and style for my first three kids and plan on using it with #4. My breasts look the same as before kids except for the slight sagginess of breastfeeding for over 3 years.
Try the Avent Manual breast pump. I used it for all of 10 mos with my first and I plan on using it again with my second. Don't think that just because it's manual that it won't pump fast enough. Once u get the hang of it u can fill up a 3-6 oz container within a few minutes without pumping so many times. I was so proud of all the milk I expressed with it and in so little time I used to take pics and send it to my friends..lol. I also tried the double medela electric pump and to be honest, it was hard to keep on my breast and cleaning out the tubes was such a pain that I had to give the avent a try. I was so glad I did cuz it was much easier to use and to clean. I def recommend!!
It depends on if you are exclusively pumping or going to breastfeed and pump. I've heard manual is best if nursing too. I couldn't nurse since baby was too premature so I exclusively pumped for a whole year and had enough milk left over frozen for a few months past his 1 yr bday. I used the Medela pump n style and it was the best pump I've ever used. Got the job done in 15 minutes and it is a double pump. I got a hands free bustier and would read a magazine while I pumped. I never had any Breast changes except them getting huge of course. Lol but I haven't nursed in over a year now and my boons look like they did before honestly. The Medela pump in style also has an adjustable suction level to adjust to your comfort level.
I have used the electric one and the manual. Yes it's a little more tiring but I like the manual one cause u can go at it own pace and there is a little thing on there u can turn for a more intense suction or a lower suction. They have the on the electric one to buy it's constant and it can get uncomfortable
