I had mine done recently and thought about it since week 7 of pregnancy! It was a hard decision... Until
my friend who's an nurse ( who also had the vaccine in her pregnancy) messaged me saying get the vaccine as I have a patient who had whopping cough as a baby and it's affected her whole life. Wasn't worth the risk
for me after hearing that. My friend who's due the same time as me had it done the same day! Also, a girl I work with is having it done today. It's a hard decision to make, only you know :) X

I never get vaccines pregnant. But I also breastfeed, so anything I get after birth the baby gets too. I got the whooping cough as well as my husband a few days after my son was born, I will do the same with this one. I have never gotten the flu shot, but with flu season being right when I have this one I am getting it after I have her at the hoapital. My dr said she prefers her patients to get vaccines after birth if they are breastfeeding.

I'm getting the tdap either this week or next (I'm 30 weeks), and I will also get the flu vaccine as soon as it is available this year, since the baby will be born during flu season. My husband has a coworker whose family had whooping cough going around, and it can get pretty bad. It's especially dangerous for infants because they cough and can't breathe. If you get the vaccine while you're pregnant, the baby will have protection against it when they're born, so you don't have to worry as much if visiting friends or family haven't been vaccinated.

I agree with Louise, it's still a c drug. I won't get any vaccines while pregnant. I am very pro vaccinations, don't get me wrong. But i will wait till after birth to get it. Everyone who will be around the babe will get it, or not visit. Especially that he will be born around flu season.
Do what you feel is best for you.

I got it for both my pregnancies. Its recommended for mommies each pregnancy and babies dads and relatives are ok as long as its been 8-10 years since they last got vaccine.

I received my tdap and didn't feel any pain. But its better to be safe then sorry. Protect your baby and urge anyone that's going to be around your baby to also get the vaccine. My 15yr old niece is even getting the vaccine so she spend as much time with my baby once he gets here. Along with my husband and my mom. It's better to know your baby is safe then to leave them helpless.

I just got my tdap as well. It's been 5 days and my arm is just starting to feel better. It makes it very sore but I strongly recommend getting it.

I got my vaccine! I actually got the tdap, which included tetanus and diphtheria vaccines as well.

I got one with both pregnancies. My husband also got it with our first, but I don't think he needs it again. It is serious!! Infants can die from whooping cough and it's pretty common in my area.

Protect your child (and other people's children) and get the vaccine. It is safe and effective.  I got mine at 30w. Whooping cough kills unvaccinated children every year and is a serious disease.

Nope. Hasn't really been tested. It works fairly well - antibodies pass through to foetus, but they haven't tested other effects on fetuses, especially long term so I'm too scared to get it as it's still classed as a category C drug for pregnancy. But most people still get it and their babies are fine.

If you are not vaccinated against whooping cough you can carry it and pass it to the baby. Whooping cough can send them to the hospital or worse if not treated soon enough
