Oh okay thank you for that :)
I am 24 weeks and my Dr mentioned this at my last appt because this is my 5th pregnancy and I'm having a lot of pressure. She said that if it comes and goes it might be contractions. She wants me to come in for that 2 week test if I think I'm having contractions because my other children have come between 36 and 38 weeks. I think they're being cautious.
Loveontop, That's so good! :)
Yes we are having a very active girl! :) we can't wait to meet her
@MyCuteBubba, I am 26+2 weeks! We are having a healthy and happy baby boy!! :) Do you know what you are having?
Loveontop I am 24 weeks :) what about you?
Oh thank you heaps ladies, that helps a lot! :) muchly appreciated.
They do a fetal fibronectin test if they have any concern about you going into labor early. That's why they always ask anything new happening and all. I had it done because I was having stabbing pain in my cervix. If it comes back negative then there's a 99% you won't go into labor within 2 weeks and if it's positive it means you are at risk. Something about some kind of hormone or something that is released. They would also test if you been having any complication or if you have a history of premature labor or any other risks that increase your risk of premature labor.
i had an ffn done at 28 weeks because of contractions.
@MyCuteBubba, I'm going to have to write that question down and be sure to ask my OB. How far along are you?
Thanks Gingermum :)
Yes, I read it but when in your pregnancy do they test? and what makes them test you? Does everyone get it? I have so many questions on this topic lol
Lol loveontop i really want to know!
Hmm that is a good question, I'd be interested in knowing that as well...
Look up the fetal fibronectin test.
