Would you go to the er?

Ok so TMI but I haven't had a bm in a week tried everything, even today prune juice which I could finally go but only very little. I'm now having pretty excruciating pain in my lower abdomen. I'm not sure of it's from not going properly or what. What would you ladies do, call a doctor, go to the er? I did have a miscarriage previously do I have been worrying a lot so far with this pregnancy.

Don't use a laxitive they can be harmful to you but stool softener is fine. I had some prescribed to be from my doctor because I was having issues as well.

I drank nasty prune juice forever! It didn't work and didn't work then bam it worked, but my belt felt horrible now it's feeling much better, I guess I'm going to just have to pinch my nose and gulp a glass every day. Thanx girls!

There is a herbal laxative tea that most grocery stores carry. It's called smooth move. You find it in the health isle. I've used it before when I wasn't pregnant. But a word of caution drink it at night and make sure you do not go anywhere the next day. It works wonders!

I had the same prob over a week ago. Two cups of prune juice back to back did the trick. Good luck I know how painful and annoying constipation can be.

Once u finally have one I would start taking a stool softener like colace.  Being the nurse that I am u should never go more than 3days without a BM trust me I am driving my husband crazy because I started to get constipated in the first trimester and am still getting constipated at times and let him know any all the time lol . But if didn't tell me to let him know everything that I was feeling the good and bad then he wouldn't hear any it all

Constipation is extremely common for pregnant women! Call your Doctor immediately so they can get you on a laxative, enema, extra fiber in your diet, stole softner, whatever you may need. its not TMI for your Dr. They are there to help and need to be the one telling you what to do and take. Good luck and a week is way to long to go with out a bm.

Coffee or dark soda like coke or dr pepper were the only things that helped me when I was constipated especially the first trimester, but if your In that much pain you need to go in better safe than sorry

Try heating up prune juice in microwave and downing it... Give it a couple hrs and see if that helps... Nasty but works, something aboit it being warm makes it work fast

I think you should go in to the ER just to be safe, but if he won't take you...have you tried Miralax?  It worked very well for me and increase your fluids significantly.  It's always best to go in...I hope you feel better...I know how you feel:-(

I'd go but I don't think my husband would take me, pain is only real when he has it, it's otherwise make believe.

It sounds like its probably just pain from constipation and they can definitely give you a laxative for that but if the pain is unbearable like you say, id go ahead and go to the er. Its always better safe than sorry  when it comes to your baby and since tomorrow is labor day most doctors will be closed til Tuesday so you'll get some relief sooner if you go ahead and go in.

I had that when I first got pregnant, my Dr gave me a laxative because nothing else helped, I'd call and talk to your Dr
