Yeast Infection during First Trimester

Hi Girls,

Did any of you had vaginal yeast infection during first trimester? My doctor perscribed me terconazole. When I got the medication inside of the package it said do not use during first trimester. I researched online and it says that some birth defects can occur.. I spoke with the nurse who said that there is not really anything safer than this medicine and leaving issue antritted can cause miscarriage (if infection gets to the uterus). I really don't know what is best deciduous here. Any suggestions based on your experience are welcome!

Thank you,

Thank you! I will try that! I drink kefir on the daily basis now as well but I haven't tried probiotics.

Dont take it if you can!

I have been traveling a lot and had some issues in life with this (no doctor can still answer exactly why would I get it quite frequently so far)

But during the pregnancy I noticed the microflora is changing again and I tried probiotics for vaginal health by Ethical Nutrients "Inner Health Candex" and drinking some kefir with live good bacteria. So far - I have been doing great. And might keep taking them the rest of the pregnancy as it is healthy, natural and cant harm your baby.

Also, what type of yogurt do you use? Could you write the exact name so I can find the same one/similar one at the store?

Thank you for your reply. Would you do it once a day before bed time?

The best is the natural yogurt, you take a syringe and throw it 5ml, then you miss a pressure in the vagina for a week and all your normal flora will be restored. I am microbiology and whenever I had a yeast infection I have done like that now im 12 weeks pregnant and I did too.
