active toddler keeps bumping my bump!

My toddler seems to understand that baby is on the way and IN my belly full and well.  Yet he will constantly "bump" full speed into me, or sit on my belly when I'm lying on the couch unsuspecting it.  This frustrates me to no end! Aside from being physically painful, it freaks me out that this fetus is bothered by it also.  I've been really patient and calm and repeatedly reminding to be careful but I'm wondering if I'm underestimating his behavior and maybe it's a bit of emotional acting out? A jealous phase? Or is it just coincidence and since I'm carrying its so much more noticeable???  Interested to hear others experiences and methods to curb the "bumping into the bump"
