I've had two and the didn't hurt but it was uncomfortable gettin it done. I think (for me) it was because you have to stay still while they're doing it and you're having contractions and having to lean forward. I just had to stay still and breath but once it was in and working- yay! It was the peace I needed :)
Good luck!
Nope. I told the anesthesiologist that I bet women fall in love with him after getting the pain relief. He laughed and said he often gets proposed to!
I hate needles too, but the only part that even remotely hurt was the local anesthetic they give you so you don't feel the rest, and that happens so fast you'll barely have time to register it. And you shouldn't feel anything after that. I've had three and always get nervous beforehand, but they have all gone really smoothly, and I've never felt anything after the anesthetic.
Feel amazing :) good luck xx
I didn't feel a thing.. I had my baby girl 6 weeks ago so it's still fresh in my memory.. Contractions hurt like a bit*ch lol like em said ^ they could run at you with a machete and you wouldn't care haha.. So no, doesn't hurt and afterwards you will l
Mine hurt
Even with a local. I supppse i was just unlucky. But it hurt worse then my contractions at 8cms.
Felt like my spine was being shattered.
This has really eased my mind as well... ftm 28weeks
Okay good. Thanks yall this my first pregnancy and I'm kinda nervous.
No. Usually you're in so much pain you wouldn't care if they came at you with a machete! Lol but I didn't feel a thing at all. I was just praying for the contractions to stop hurting!!
Agreed.
Mine didn't hurt. You'll be in more pain from contractions...i didn't even notice the epidural.
You should do some research. An epidural is not administered in your spinal cord, or even next to it; the chances of being paralyzed and virtually none. You also aren't stuck with some big needle. It's very small; we're talking nothing close to your IV needle. It's a very minimal pinch, some say it burns for a few seconds, with a hollow needle then the actual epidural is slipped inside and secured. Honestly getting a shot or the IV is more painful for most.
