glucose test what is it?

I've just been reading an old post and have never heard of it can someone tell me what it's all about, maybe it's just done differently England x

You drink this gross liquid and then wait a specific amount of time and then they take your blood to test for gestational diabetes.

I think I did it with my son at 24weeks

I'm from Scotland and they only make you test if they are concerned. I have a 2 1/2hour test on Wednesday and that's to see if that's the reason my fluid levels are high

Yes.when i was on my 20 weeks i already took that glucose test. I was required to do fasting

I think they only test you in England if they are concerned. Often due to the weight / size of the pregnant lady or if there is a chance of diabetes during pregnancy. In America it seems like they do it routinely (I'm presuming anyway) X

They test your blood sugar levels. It shows how well your pancreas is producing insulin.
