My husband said he used to take her in the men's room (when she still needed help) and he'd make sure it was empty 1st. Once she got older and was able to wash her hands/use the potty alone, he'd stand outside the ladies room and keep verbal tabs on her.
I would imagine he would do the same thing I do when I take my son into a public bathroom. Which is the same thing I do when I take him into the bathroom at home. Men's bathrooms have toilets and sinks... that's all a little girl needs, right? Help with whatever your kiddo needs help with depending on age and ability. It's not a big deal, truly. Glad your husband is thinking ahead - but it's really nothing to worry about.
I figured he would just do it that way, but I wasn't sure, neither of us have a whole lot of experience with kids lol.. It made me laugh when he asked, I thought it was great he was thinking ahead too.. Thanks ladies!
And yes obviously we are talking about when she is too tiny to go by herself lol
Lots of places have family washrooms now to so you have more privacy and don't have to worry about little girls seeing to much
My father hated taking my daughter to the men's room... His major complaint about the men's public restrooms are they aren't kept clearly as clean as the women's restrooms and much preferred the family bathrooms. Thankfully there weren't to many occasions where he had to take her into the men's room. My brothers complaint about taking his daughter (and son) into men's rooms are they usually aren't "baby" friendly ~lack of changing tables ~
I asked my husband that when I found out we were having a boy!
I didn't think about the family bathrooms they have now, that's a good point. And I also didn't know if all men's rooms have stalls. The cleanliness thing crossed my mind as well.. I guess there will definitely be a learning curve with all this.. oh my lol
Having worked in retail and food service and lots of other businesses that have gender-specific bathrooms... Men's rooms are cleaner. I promise you that. Women are disgusting when it comes to public restrooms. It sounds weird but it's absolutely the truth. The grossest part is obviously the urinal... but your little girl won't be using that so you're in the clear ;-)
My hubby tells her close ur eyes and hug daddy's shoulder and then he holds her legs so she doesn't touch the seat! They figure it out just like we have to! And they should cause girls arnt easy and they need to know that from the beginning! Lol my hubby has a new appreciation for me taking her all the time!
And yeah, all men's rooms have stalls. Guys poop too! The stalls are cleaner because they're not used nearly as often as a stall in a ladies' room.
Me and my husband kept an extra baby potty in the car so if he had to he could just go out to the car and let her use the potty. If it was a single bathroom or family bathroom then he would just use those.
Use the disabled toilet? Or a baby change room they usually have toilets. But I take my twins into the disabled toilet as theres not enough room in a single cubicle.
Lol I agree men's bathrooms are more cleaner than the women's
