antidepressants during pregnancy

Im thinking about possibly having to get on one. I really dont want to but Im fighting my depression and some weeks are better then others but Im struggling right now. Im not severely down but I dofeel like crap, I dont want to do anything, go anywhere,.I want to sleep more, and I really need help with cleaning my house at this point. And since Im due in november that time of year I really struggle, right around the holidays. Every year its the same horrible depression so what antidepressants can you take while pregnant?? Thanks. Yea Im bipolar and have had to take a very low dose of a Medicine called saphris to balance out the manía and depression. It does an amazing job of making me normal, lol but I still get depressed where it gets to difficult to withstand. But right now id say its mild. Im going to try in the next week to change my schedule around, force myself to get out, see if I can sorta snap myself out of it a bit. Just harder then it sounds. Im curious what antidepressants you can take granted Ive tried them all and have had the best luck with one. My depression is extremely resilient with meds, Ive tried so many herbal supplements, and meds Its crazy. Im going to try to stick this out though as Long as i can since Im already on one med. I will add another if this doesnt let up for awhile. Im hoping this is just an effect from my hormones cause that greatly effects me to. Bit thanks for your suggestions and thanks for making me feel less alone with this:)

I am on an antidepressant and anti-anxiety medication.  There are quite a few that are category C drugs, and can also be used while breast feeding.  My doctor recommended Lexapro, but I know we had discussed a few others as well.  I have the meds monitored every two weeks to make sure I am on the lowest effective dose.  For me the benefits far outweighed the risks, and when you are feeling bad, it's not good for baby.  Take care of yourself.  You are not alone...

It could be a combo of the depression and pregnancy. I would definitely talk to the dr. I do know that st. James wart (the OTC herbal) is a no no at this point. So I would ask about other herbs before you try those. But I have heard women say they had good results from the sun lamp treatment.
