Sammyasmi. We have moved on from the placenta eating coments. This is a no win coment post. There are thoughs of us that 100% think its wrong. However its not going to stop thoughs that do it. The last few coments have been about breast feeding.

Thats utterly disgusting. Placenta is something for the baby,  that once delivered , the body gets rid of it. I know that research says something positivr about its consumption but I would rather believe my body over the researchers. There is a reason why it got rid of it.. because it was no longer useful. Then why would I consume it again? According to my body that is a waste product!

I know people do it but there are many many alternatives, I think thise should be considered and tried first before all this.

Well thats normal for the first few weeks to only get about an oz. That all baby needs at a time, at first. Yes it is supper painful at first. With my last baby it became so painful he had to take one bottle of formula a night. During our hospital stay, just until my milk came back in. I only dry up when pregnant, im amazed ive not dried up on my baby with this pregnancy.

Sadly way back when, there were mothers who could not nurse. Due to many reasons, back then they understood it was just not ment to be. So no there is not always a way for everyone. Anyways, That was why they had wet nurses, still have them today. It takes a special kind of woman to do it. I once had to bf my little sisters baby because... I hate to say but was true, she was neglectful mother. left her baby with me with out asking and was gone for way too long with no bottles for the baby. I nursed my neice. Though I felt weird doing it and let my sister know it was not ok to do that with her baby..

I hope you get to have the chance to nurse this time. If all else fails it is possible to get breast milk from the clinic for baby and bottles are not the end of the world. So long as you hold your baby while feeding and rock him/her while doing so. That bonding time will still be there.

Good luck mama

Ya i would go to lengths to pump each breast for up to like 45 min each and i would come out with like and oz each and it was the worst pain in the world. I would've rather given birth again then feel that pain. I don't know if I'm not meant to breast feed but what if i lived in the ancient old days. What would i have done? I mean there's got to be a way for everyone right?

With my first baby I couldn't produce milk and a was a psycho because of postpartum.... for like a whole year and I'm skeptical but I think I will do anything at this point for it to be a different experience this time around and if it calls for encapsulating my placenta then I'm in. I'd probably do worse things. Haha it was an awful experience.

Wow ok ladies. We have hit another pregnancy roar coment and post. The coments where generalized until recently.  Lets take a break. It is my opinion it is cannibalism, that dose not mean that I am calling anyone a cannibal. Though if you take offence to it maybe a part of you agrees with me. To each his own and there is no point in carrying this post further. Thoughs that think its a good idea will still do it and thought that think it is wrong and discusting will continue to do so. Lets let this coment/post die.

Hieny... have you googled places that do it? The woman that's doing mine, is getting certified to do it. Maybe look for one that's just getting started, or is about to be certified.
Amyj105... I completely understand the throwing up part, it took a while for me to get used to the idea.

Think about it. Animals naturally eat them own placenta. I have seen my cats done it. Its natural. I dont think its cannanlism if you cant hurt yourself by eating it. I say go for it. If my insurance covered then i would do it.

Seriously, ladies.. maybe it isn't your cup of tea, but don't attack someone for wanting to try it. Don't be so narrow-minded.

Well, you have your opinion and I have mine. And I'm not doing it because "some celebrity says it's good" I couldnt care less. I am doing
It for my child. So bash me all you want, it won't change my mind. I have seen videos, I've seen the whole process, infact. I will stand by my decision.

I have read up on it just fyi.. yes placenta grows in your body. Have you seen the photos of it when they give it to you? Straight bloody flesh. It's disgusting.  People are only jumping on this trend because a couple of celebrities have. Guess what.. If a multivitamin is something people are looking for.. they sell them a real over the place. They say human blood has health benefits as well.. but seriously?

Ok, for one, it is NOT CANNIBALISM! It is NOT something you're born with. As stated before,
If you're not doing it, why do you care?! Even if I was being charged for it, I'd still do it!

My doctor has said he'd give it to me, when I'm ready to be released. I'm going to have it dehydrated, and turned into powder, and put into capsules. It's like taking a multivitamin. You don't taste it, just the gel capsules that it's put into. Read up on it, before you go and judge a woman for what SHE feels is good for HER AND HER CHILD! It's not hurting any of you, so why bash people?!

Yes it is cannibalism.  It's eating a part of your flesh! And as for putting something back in your body that you lost? Well if I lost an arm or leg I sure would not eat it.

Many other cultures do it. I've known a few ladies who have had it done.

It is incredibly nutritional,  and you lose a lot of vitamins and often blood during delivery.. This is just a way of putting something you just lost back into your body. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, if you're not doing it then who cares? But it is not cannibalism... come on ladies, let's be real. It's a shame people attack something just because it is a foreign idea to them. And no, I'm not doing it. I'm not paying that kind of money for something that isn't a "guarantee. " however if I were offered it for free I'd probably try it.

Just a nasty idea. Are we animals? Well im not and im not a canibal either,  especially of my one flesh. I thought cannibalism was against the law. I guess its ok with your own flesh? Some people have messed up ideas.
