tums question

I was told it was ok to take tums for heartburn while pregnant. Except I don't know what strength is on because they have regular and extra strength. And I don't know how often I can take it. Please any advice

Yeah you can't really OD on tums. If i your heartburn in bad enough talk to your doc about daily acid reducers. I take it once to twice daily and don't need tums now.

I told my Dr. That I'm eating 3 tums with in an hour of bed time because my heart burn is at its worst when I lay down! She told me that I can have up to 10 a day! You can't OD and they don't hurt the baby. She also said to try tums chewys because I wouldn't need as many! They work 100% better and I only eat one before bed maybe 2 if it doesn't work w in 30 mins. So if your eating a lot of them try the chewys!

I take extra strength 2-3 a day as needed. I asked my doc because the bottle says not go more than 2 strait weeks taking it and he said it was fine to keep taking that amount up until baby is born.

I was just looking at a medication liat from my doctor with dosage and it says 1000mg.  One regular tums has 500 mg and I believe extra strength has between 750-1000mg per tablet.
