being induced!!!

I need some advice I'm a ftm my doctor told me today that we will induce on the 21 of April unless he comes before hand. I'll be 38 weeks 5 days at this time. What do I need to expect? Does it hurt worse then natural labor?

I've been induced twice and never have had a bad experience with my first they gave me the epidural which to me was the worst pain ever and then it didn't even work so the second time around I refused it and even though I was induced I took the pain without the epidural and with this one being my last I am looking forward to another natural labor even if I am to be induced again.

I got induced at 39wks with my first pregnancy.  my cervix was closed. It hurt so bad they had to give me the epidural before they could induce me. It was horrible. And after 31hrs I got a c section.

I was induced too ...got prepped at 230am and had my little one at 8am by the time they broke my water the pain comes but you will know if you can tolerate high pain or not within those minutes of cramps...I didn't think I could tolerate it but apparently my body was able to tolerate high contractions which was surprising. I prefer to be induced only because I don't want to be surprised with the waterbreak somewhere else other than hospital lol

How your induction goes depends on if your cervix is favorable.
I was induced at 41 weeks 2-3 cms dialated and 85% effaced. I started feeling contractions 5 minuets after they started pitocin. Once they broke my water I was in do much pain. I got the epidural but it didn't work. I got to the hospital at 4:30 am and had my daughter at 4:07 pm after 20 something minuets of pushing. I've been told it's more painful to be induced but it's don't have anything to compare it to. Just get as much rest as you can because pushing is exhausting !
