baby shower

Hi everyone! I didn't really want to have a baby shower mainly because I live so far away from family and friends, but today thought it might be a good way to cheer me up and also to get to know the neighbours a bit better. My question is, is it ok to throw a shower for myself? I really don't care about presents, we've got everything for the baby already, so I would tell people not to get anything and to just come over for coffee and some fun games if they're up for it. I've never been to a baby shower myself and don't know much about them so any advice very welcome :-) thank you

Or you can start planning a sip and see, which lets everyone meet the new baby and have tea, coffee, or wine, if you have a taste for it and miss it. Since it's my second pregnancy, a sip and see is probably the way I'm going. (And if anyone asks what they can bring, I'm telling them diapers!) :-)

Give it a whirl hun. I had mine yesterday and didnt think I was going to enjoy it. But it was lovely in the end. If you dont know ur neighbours very well, maybe make the invites in person so u can explain sprinkle. Ppl will volunteer what they r good at. Cake making etc.

I think that sounds great! If people really want to bring stuff for the baby, maybe suggest diapers or wipes...something that you know you need abundance of, but just stress you have what you need & just want to spend time with friends & family. :)

Thanks for the feedback ladies! And also for the idea of a sprinkle, never heard of that before??! So it's the same as a shower but without the presents basically?

Sounds  like  a  real nice idea u could call it a sprinkle  instead of a shower as at sprinkles u dnt normally  get presents it's just to spend time with people u love b4 the birth and if people want  to  get j somthing  at a sprinkle it normally go the mumma not the baby x
