Pack n play with the built in bassinet....
I say play yard. My parents did foster care when I was younger and a foster baby died of sids inn a bassinet. So play yard for me all the way. Baby's r us has mini ones that you can buy pretty cheap. They don't take up a lot of room and are a nice size for a new baby
Rock & play sleeper is what I plan to use. I used one for my son whom is now two and I absolutely loved it!!
Also for those worried about the play yards being too uncomfortable for baby, they have mattresses now that fit both the raised up and lower level of the playards and gives that mattress feel for less than any bassinet...
Pack and play with a raised bassinet. Made sense to get it instead of a bassinet and then in a few years get the pack and play
I have one of the pack n plays that is also has a bassinet because of all the storage for like diapers, wipes, & ect. It's what I did with my 1st one & it worked great.
I have a crib and a play pen. I've always had my child in a crib in my room but this time we have a nursery so I'm on the fence what to use. I guess ill wait till I get home to decide
They have.pack n.plays with the bassinet attached. A regular bassinet is a waste.of.money since they can't sleep in it.long. the.pack n play is amazing! I bring mine fishing and camping and on vacation its well worth it!!!
Playyard I had both last time but this baby is a lot bigger than my first and bassinet spent last long especially for babies that start to move fast and lift up etc
I'm doing a bassinet this time I did a playyard with my first two and ended up cosleeping because they found the playyards very uncomfortable and wouldn't sleep good
I'm getting a play yard type thing also. Converts from an "at arms reach" sleeper for the side of our bed to a small crib type thing, or the bottom (mattress part) can drop down to covert into a playpen.
Am doing playard because it the all n one with the basinette...easier to deal with
I had a pack-n-play for my first two...one with the raised basinet for when they are tiny...and that was where they slept when they were upstairs. I am living in a much smaller place than what I was 6 or even 4 years ago so I have a basinet this time around. I just don't have room for a pack-n-play anywhere in my apartment. Hubby and I are looking for a house, but just haven't been able to find one. And now looking for a house in this area has been put on hold due to talk of him being transferred out of state and us possibly moving out of this area all together.
I'm doing the playpen because its cool for diapers, wipes, blankets storage and it's portable to move from my room to the living room or pack it up and take it if I stay somewhere like out of town. And it has a thing to change the babies diaper. It just seems so much more useful to have a playpen.
Playpen/playyard. Because we're going to be going back home to see family and it folds down unlike a bassinet and later on they can use it. We'll be getting the bigger furniture with income tax so hafta have the playpen before hand (due in dec) don't have a lot of room either. But you can always take it down when not in use or move it out to livin room when you're doing something else.
I'm going with a play yard. The one with stages for newborn, infant and toddler. Like u, I don't have much space (it's bigger than a bassinet but smaller than a crib) and baby will have his own room next year...by then I will get a crib (convertible so it will last for years). I really fell in love with some bassinets but they really only last a few months and I don't want to waste money.
Playard because they have more room but like you said you don't have a ton of room. Plus they last a while and can be used for years
