I was checked at 38 weeks, which because of a due date mix up early on doc assumed I was 36 wks. I was at 3 cm. The next morning my water leaked at 2am (sac was still intact), by 11am or so doc checked me at 3cm again. They asked if I wanted induced and said it might may labor go harder. I said nope I'm OK with what I have now. Doc popped water and I had baby a few hours later.
My doctor doesn't check unless I want him to. Says that it doesn't really have a purpose other then make you uncomfortable and stress over numbers. I personally hate being checked, so I don't. It won't help predict when labor will start.
This is my second pregnancy, and I'm 38 wks today and haven't been checked at all for dilation in either pregnancy, and I have to diff Drs. With my first, I was checked during active labor at 39 wks by the nurse at the hospital. It really is Drs preference to check or not.
With my first baby they started checking me at 36 weeks. With my second it was optional starting 36 weeks since I was having csection. This time I don't know if he Will check me at all since I have a new doctor and it's a csection. I'm 35 weeks now
I was checked at 35 weeks.
I'm 36 weeks and have been checked 3 times already and had an ultrasound at 34 weeks because I've been having signs of preterm labour
My dr offered at my 38 week appointment but he said it can be an uncomfortable experience for some women so he doesn't check until 39 weeks. He said he would if I wanted him to but since I don't have any signs of labor he didn't feel it necessary yet.
My pregnancy is normal so my midwife suggest I don't get checked because then all I think about is that number. if I am dilated or not I can't really determine if I will go into labor soon.
They checked me at 37 weeks when they did the step b culture, but only because I wanted to be (I wanted to hear that I was making any kind of progress lol). My OB doesn't do any ultrasounds after the 20 week unless they suspect an issue. My last one was around 28 weeks but only because I was bleeding slightly and having some cramping. I would ask if you would like to be checked.
Well I have been annoyingly check since I turned 36 weeks. Even though I am having a csection. ...
I was never checked for dialation in 3 pregnancies until i was in active labour
I didn't get checked till I was in labour, dilation does not determine when your baby will come
I was checked for dilation at 38 weeks with this baby (no4) but i think it depends on your team as i have never been checked before with my other 3 until i was in active labour
