birth plans?

My friend keeps asking me what my birth plan is since I'm almost due. All I can come up with is a yoga ball for stretching, maybe done quiet music in the room to help with the nerves, and definitely the pain meds. Should there be more then that besides letting things happen on there own?

I understand things don't go by a book duribg labour and birth, however having said that you still want to have a rough plan. Bc regardless of how things go done things will not change and the doctor and nurses on staff need to be madec aware of your wishes. Ie like finchette said, pacifiers, feeding method, when baby should be washed off initially (not first bath) I just mean leaving them they way they are born very healthy for their skin! When first bath will happen (can you give first bath) delayed cord clamping is biggie for me. All things you should be aware of and if possible make sure your wishes are known! But also know yes done things may not work out for this or that reason but at least you tried and some this were able to go 'according' to plan :-) lol

Just go with the flow and keep an open mind. You need to be prepared for the unexpected yet open to the wonserful experience of bringing your baby into the world, that's all, the rest you can decide on the day.

Google birthing plan. There are a lot of site that have them. Just print it out, fill it out and go over it with your dr. This way you are both on same page. I have one in file are OBGYN and o e for myself

Do you want an epidural? Delayed cord clamping? Will you allow bottles or pacis? Do you want to room in with baby or baby in nursery? Ummm.... will you wait for babies first bath, there's more but I'm drawing a blank... lol
