To dye my hair or not...35 weeks.

Have you ladies avoided the salon during your pregnancy? I've done two sets of highlights throughout my pregnancy since the color doesn't fully come in contact with my scalp, but with my due date approaching in 5 weeks and fall on the arrival I want to go back to a full head of brown and a fresh look for baby. Just curious what you ladies have done or thoughts were.

I'm a hairstylist! No problems in coloring your hair while pregnant! Iv worked my entire pregnancy and also colored my hair! No problem at all! The odor may bother you if your aren't used to any Strong smell or all re frequently nauseous. Other than that it's safe and causes no harm!

I'm glad it's ok, because I was wondering this as well. My roots have grown in to my ears.

My OB just had a baby of her own and told me she dyed her hair every 6 weeks like clockwork after the first trimester. I would trust the doctor over the salon any day.

Totally fine to color your hair.  Think of how many hair dressers work during pregnancy they're around it all the time. Not a big deal.

I got my hair done but it was in my 2nd trimester. I felt fine afterwards. But I have heard that you should try to avoid it in the first and third trimester

Call the salon and ask them. They should be able to tell you if its safe or not. You could also just do lowlights everywhere to hide your highlights if you are worried about it touching the scapl and that way it will darken it up and even if some of the lighter bits show through it will look really nice
