blood sugar levels out of control!! -- gestational diabetes

So I'm 35 weeks pregnant and have gestational diabetes and I got sick about 2 weeks ago... first was a head cold that went away, then I got a sinus infection and ear infection a day later, then I caught whatever stomach bug my husband had... since I got sick 2 weeks ago... my blood sugar levels have been high... I'm not on any medication and for the past few weeks have been able to control it with my diet... I just dont get it... because one day I will eat something and the sugar levels are fine... other days I will eat the exact same thing and it will be high... I dont understand!! Plus my fasting levels have been high too... I just dont want to be put on medication and if they go for insulin there is NO WAY I will be able to inject myself. .. any advice on what to do???

Try drinking water afterwards and I agree with MrsGomez24 you might consider the Chia seeds. If you research it you'll see the benefits, js. ;)

I have an appt tomorrow and when I went last week she said that because I was sick that may be why and didn't want to start medication just yet in case I didnt need it... one day I ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast.m. blood sugar was 116... the next day ate the same thing (and a smaller portion) it was 160... (I checked it 3 times!!) 2 days later ate cereal again and 150 (I wanted to see if it was just a fluke)... I just dont want to have to go on meds for only 2-3 weeks. .. and if it's insulin-forget it... I physically cannot inject myself.... I cant even give my dog shots... I tried unsuccessfully to do the 5 in 1 since I couldn't get to the vet or the vaccination clinic... poor thing got Parvo before I could get her shots.. thank god she survived... im leaving that job for the professionals now

I have GD too. The clinician told me that usually as the pregnancy progresses it can become more difficult to control blood sugar. She didn't tell me why this happens,  but I'm also just turning 35 weeks tomorrow and some of my numbers have went up a bit as well. Still not in the danger zone but I definatly am concerned as I don't want to inject myself with shots either. I hope you get it back on track quickly!

I have Gd with all 4 pregnancies. First they usually try metformin and glyburide or something similar. Those are pills. My fasting is my problem not when I eat. If you do have to do shots the needles are small and don't hurt at all.

I have gd too, I'm only 13 weeks but every time I get pregnant I get it, the Dr's have me on insulin, I hate it, cause some times is normal and sometimes is high and I start crying and stressing over it, but do like I do, my nurses told me to walk 10 to 15 mins after every meal, that helps with the sugar levels, maybe that will work for u without any medicine
