Unless downs runs in your family i doubt your baby is at risk for it..30 is still very young...its a higher risk for women near age 40
I am 30 too, my doctor talked me out of doing the down's syndrome test due to the fact that I am so young, healthy and no history of it in family. However no one in my immediate family had children past 33.
I'm 27 and after my 12 week nuchal scan/blood test the results came back high risk. I went on to have further testing. I went for the non-invasive option and had the Harmony blood test. This looks at bubs dna. That test result came back all clear. It's not always about age or whether or not ds is in the family. I do know however that the 12 week scan is not always accurate and has a high result of giving false positives. So keep in mind that there is always further testing available if your results come back like mine did. Stay positive and don't stress about it.
