Sounds great I had no idea about insurances covering breast pumps ill deff. Call health first and find out .. thanks ladies and good luck with your babies (:
Just call your insirance company
How can I find out if my insurance covers any breast pump for free or at least they pay some of the price?
I had an Ameda double electric and loved it. I prefer ameda over medela because its a closed system like a hospital grade pump. If I was going to buy used I would only buy ameda it's safer. But as was mentioned lots of insurance companies now cover the full price of a pump call your insurance and get the details.
I had a medela with all my kids. I got a brand new one, on the go tote, free, because my insurance covered it. Look into that first. I've had it for a month now, and not due for another 4-6 weeks.
I think you have to look at your lifestyle. How long do you want to breastfeed for? Will you be going back to work after baby? Fulltime/partime? I will be going back to work fulltime after baby, and I work nights. I don't have a cushy desk job or work in a female dominated company (I work at UPS) so a good, electric breast pump is my best option if I want to breastfeed. Also, keep in mind that you can always look into preowned breastpump to save money and I've also found out that most hospitals will rent out breastpumps. Good luck :)
