I heard that it does help you lose weight, but not necessarily inches around your tummy...which is what I would nd must concerned about. This pregnancy I am all tummy.

Plus with my first my baby was really sensitive with what I ate...it was like all I could eat was boiled chicken (some seasonings made his colic worse) and mashed potatoes.  Most veggies gave him gas too.  I don't see how he could be getting very many nutrients that way, even with the prenatals... I ended giving up with it all after 4 Weeks - even though I wanted to do more.

Has anyone has similar issues or have you heard if there's some way to help the baby digest the milk better (like maybe I can take something that would help - like anti gas medicine or something)?

Just one word of caution eating too much rich food or junk can be bad while breastfeeding as it can cause issues for baby tummy. My baby is 4 wks and has problems when I eat too much acid like tomatoes. But I weigh less now than I did before I was pregnant!

Just keep taking your prenatal vitamins and stay hydrated.

Your milk will be essentially the same reguardless of what you eat. The most important thing is to ensure you stay hydrated.

I'm considering it is formula is so expensive. But my main concern is maintaining a healthy eating diet during the breast feeding is going to be hard for me.

Yes it does. But of course you still need to eat healthy :)
