I went back to work full time six weeks after my son was born. All I had was a manual pump. I had a bad latch and was told at two weeks by my pediatrician that I didn't have enough milk and would need to supplement. My nipples cracked and bled and I was in pain from every feeding for more than the first month.
I did not give up. I did not buy formula. I sought advice and guidance from experienced moms and well trained lactation consultants. I nursed my son for two years. Wherever and whenever he was hungry, without shame, without a cover.
I hope to nurse my next baby for longer.
I breastfed my first for 14 months and I plan on doing it again. Maybe not quite as long! Personally I was just too lazy to bottle feed! I figured my it was easier to sit in a rocking chair lights out and nurse than go into the kitchen turn on the lights make a bottle wait for it to warm and then still have to do those dishes in the morning. Having said that I waited too long to try to use a bottle so my little one wouldn't take one. Therefore guess who always had to be the one to get up in the night? It is such a hard thing to decide though because there are benefits of both
Formula. For a range of personal reasons but im going back to work soon after so thats a big part why.
I plan on giving my child breast milk until 5 years old I will exclusively pump by 8 months
With my first daughter I was really sick & on too many meds to breastfeed. This baby im thinking of doing half & half
I will be formula feeding. I have a stressful job, and will be going back 4 weeks after having her. I dont want to be drying up as im going back. I formula fed with my son, its the best choice for me. To each thier own! A friend of mine breastfed until 15 months, and she was very emotional about the whole experience.
Im planing on breast feeding this bb for at least a year that's my goal! I breastfed my second son for alnost 5months then i ended up bottle feeding bcuz he kept biting me n i thought he wasn't getting enough! I chose to breast feed bcuz u don't have to wash that mant bottles n its the best thing for them!
I'll be formula feeding this time. I breastfed for 4wks with my first until I had to stop. Going through the same complications this time, I'm going to skip the heartache and just go straight to the bottle. At the end of the day I'm pro feeding hungry babies, however a woman chooses to do it is up to the individual.
Both. I'll breast feed for 3 months for the baby to have antibodies, for me the help with weight loss and tonsave money during the holidays. My first son wasn't breastfed at all and he has been perfectly healthy from day 1.
i always start w/ breastfeeding but after a while i end up bottle feeding for 1 reason or another. longest i made it was about 3mos w/ my 1st
both! breastfed my daughter as long as possible while working. milk supply wasn't sufficient so i gave her a supplement when needed. hopefully I'll do better with sustaining my milk supply this time around but if formula is needed I'll do what i have to do...with no shame in my game. if you can at least try breastfeeding to measure your tolerance that would be good i suppose.
At the beginning I was planning on breast feeding but thinking and having to deal with my cronic headaches and migraines. . I want to be able to care for and enjoy my son. I won't beable to do that if im always in pain and uncomfortable so ill be going back on headache meds so I wont be breastfeeding
I'm planning on breastfeeding again. I did it with all of my mids. I love it. I honestly wouldn't know how to bottle feed lol
