breast pump insurance

I found a breast pump that is covered by my insurance. Now what? How do i get it? Do i contact my insurance? Its a medela pump..it shows i can get it at a variety of places one being Babies R Us. I guess im not sure how i order and pay for it. Do i pay for it and my insurance will reimburse me? I hope this makes sense! Just eant opinions before i call my insurance.. this way is easier!

My hospital is going to do it for me :) makes it so easy because I can't get it until after I have the baby

I went on my insurance website and found a link to the places where I could order them from. Once I got that I filled out a form with what kind I wanted and had to have my Dr verify my pregnancy. Most insurance won't send them til you're at least 30 weeks along. Once I got to 30 weeks the company sent the pump. Every insurance company is different though, but that's how mine works. I'd look on the website first and if nothing you may have to call. Hope that helps

Do you think the hospital grade is that much better than the pump in style? I used to have a really cheap portable medella... it was the worst! When I got the pump in style it was like heaven in comparison and the milk actually came out in a stream. I wonder if I should even bother with the insurance one?

I had to go through my insurance company and they gave me a number to a local medical supply store. I would call your insurance and find out there requirements. Good luck :)
