Er at 12 weeks

I was 11-5 on Monday and stood up at my niece's ball game and dropped blood.  My legs and skirt were coated with blood.  I had my husband rush me to the er. Once I got there they said it would be about two hours.  I managed to get back to get my vitals and my husband pushed his way through to get me cleaned up.

As soon as I sat on the potty I was pulling hand fulls of blood clots from between my legs.  My hubby was screaming for help and three nurses ran in and saw me in all my glory. Then a room opened up and I was able to grab it.  Apparently people go to the EMERGENCY ROOM for non emergencies.  This is ridiculous! If my husband hadn't been as assertive, there's no telling what could have happened.

They took me back and got me a room and gave me an ultrasound and the baby was great! My husband was watching and making the movements he saw our baby making.  The ultrasound tech legally couldn't tell us anything, but he was watching and telling me what was going on.  We have had 5 ultrasounds at the point. Anyone else had this much difficulty?

Yes me... my first ER visit was at 5w for the same reason. I was put on bed rest till week 13 and had an ultrasound weekly from week 5-13. Then again at 16w and 20w. I delivered on mother's day a happy and healthy baby girl.

I have insurance through state and so does my son but if my son has a fever puking etc. I ask friends people I know if any one they know is having smae issues hates trip just to be told give over counter meds plenty of rest etc. Unless a serious injury or a fall that could cause internal bleeding broken bone concussion sight hearing issues or liquids and solids are not staying down at all fever won't go away at all   stitches no need for er and it our local ones any heart and kid related oneseven if not major one get first priority  one time my aunt tripped cut elbow real bad was bleeding through rags almost past out due to bleeding so bad it was all over floor she is aneimic on on blood thinners I guy saw someone just checked out and he pushed the button  to ipen access doors found an empty room  took my aunt back in it then found a doctor and dragged him to the room and went off and said I see you put a kid with just a fever slight cough back before something like this I will report your hospital and personally represent this women when she decides to sue you if u seeing how bad off she was and cause you ignoring it caused worse medical issues and I stay in the hospital over night. This guy was disability lawyer whom was there with someone whom broke their arm even that person amongst others told the staff she (my aunt) needs to go back before them let's just now they don't atomatically put kids  other minor emergency's as a priority only time I have been is over something doctor can do is when it has been more than a week and a half wait before doctor can see me or my son by then things can get way worse depending on what's going on

Glad everything turned out alright! Super scary.

People with no insurance go to the ER since it is the only place to be seen.
I had to take my husband when he broke his elbow, we were the only non-crazy people there. Half the people were just seeking pain meds. We went there since with a PPO he didn't have a PCP

I was diagnosed with subcoreonic hemorrhage too.  I also had a hematoma throughout the first 11 weeks.  So freaky!

I have had the bleeds this  and i am 15 weeks. I was diagnosed with a subchorionic hemorrhage. I have been told to take it easy and they are seeing me every two weeks for progress on it. We are hoping it shrinks and goes away soon. I have old blood that comes out daily which is frustrating. Hang in there!

Oh my,i had two episodes like that one around 8 weeks and one around 11 weeks, it was bright red bleeding the second one was with clotsi freaked they told me at the er that i would probably miscarry, i am now 14/4 and everything seems to be going normal and looks good, they told me it could be implantation bleeding (i think not!) And they said oh well its just old blood again i think not! Not sure what it was but it seems fine now!

So sorry! What an experience. I am very fortunate, the hospital I use let's all pregnant woman go straight to the woman's Pavillon if you are having problems. They handle pregnancies everyday and are better informed than the ER. Good luck!

It really is scary. I work in a PEDs office and we get reports every morning from the 4 hospitals our practice is associated with letting us know which patients went to the ER and why so that we can follow up with them. I can't tell you how many times people have gone to the ER for "fever of 101 for 2 hours" or "child vomited in crib" its really ridiculous to think that people constitute those things as emergencies and take care away from people who are in great need of medical attention.

@april__ blessed so true.  I tried going to urgent care called several different places and non would see me because I'm pregnant.  The triage nurse told me if half of them would have gone to urgent care instead of ER then we wouldn't have to wait as long as we did. Me personally I can't stand to go. But my dr told me I needed an IV since I'd been throwing up so much and I wasn't keeping down any fluids.  Morning sickness omg does it ever go away? Im 18 wks and still throwing up even with meds

I have experienced pregnancy loss twice,  and I have always just put myself on bed rest after something like that.  With my 6 year old I was on bed rest from 6 weeks,  until 25 weeks, which is when I delivered.  Take it easy it's worth it.

You'd be surprised what some people go to the ER for, which is why healthcare is so expensive in this country.

Oh my goodness! That's so scary.  I'm so glad you and baby are doing ok. I've had to go to the ER for dehydration then a week later there was blood coming out. Light at 1st then heavy.  I called the dr.  They had me go in for an ultrasound.  Baby is doingok.  I was put on bed rest for a few days.  Then
