I gave birth 11 days ago via c section. My scar is healed from the outside.  You'll be able to shower the next day. Make sure you pat yourself dry after each shower, don't pick anything heavier than your baby for a couple of weeks. It's really not that bad i was up walking ten hours later. Good luck! Hey Candy.

My waterproof covering came off after 10days and it was sealed, just had to be careful and dab it dry after each shower. Saw my dr 4wks post op and he said it looked great. Fell pregnant again when my son was 10mths and 30wks now with no problems with the previous csection scar.

I think it just varies, it didn't take me that long to heal (on outside) and I was doing things that I shouldn't have *shrugs* but the above poster is right, don't put anything on it and follow the Dr's instructions. :)

Jessica, does it take long to heal the inside because of the nerves?

No don't put anything on it just take it easy dont lift anything havy or use a lot of strength. It takes like a month and a half to heal outside bit to heal inside up to 5 years but its normal just follow your doctor's instructions you will be fine. ☺
