c section v normal delivery

Am ftm just curious to know who chose c section rather than a normal delivery and how was it? Also have u given birth normally. which is better?

Hmm so it's all mixed reviews I think I will just go for normal unless I really need c section. Just pray guys I have a easy and quick recovery and same for u guys too

I'm choosing a c section. I was a 10'13 baby and I have a family history of gestational diabetes that pretty much guarentees huge bubs. Oh and my mum smoked when she had me too. As I dont smoke or drink, and I can feel the diabetes already-booked for test no two this week-i've got no way to keep the weight down except exercise.  And I'm lucky if I'm out of bed for 3 hours a day from the fatigue atm so thats out too. Also, I'm a carbon copy of my mum, and she's had to endure 4 repairs on both a and v from me. I know it may have breastfeeding and bonding ramifications but I'd rather spend the money on formula now, and not have to spend $10k for each repair for the next 30 years.

My csection was Not what I wanted & I did not have a choice. My recovery was terrible and I will never choose to have another one!!! I am lucky and my doctor and hospital will support a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC), but not all women are that lucky!  Many doctors will make you have another csection after you've already had one. No other option for them. Csections are more expensive, so I hope you have good insurance. Or you'll be paying more out of your own pocket. Also, VBACs are also more expensive than vaginal, but cheaper than csection. I had serious problems with my milk supply and my daughter's pediatrician & also my new OBGYN believe that it is due to the fact that I never went into labor at all. Formula cost us around $80 a month when it is practically free to breastfeed (not to mention, healthier for baby & promotes weight loss for mom.) If it wasn't for the fact that my daughter and I could have both died if I went into labor, I would have absolutely not had a cesarean!!

I had a natural for my first and it was horrendous!  Due to the size of him (10Ibs) and im a small lady.  He was also posterior so all that combined made for a very difficult delivery.  It took my son and I a very long time to recover from that. So when I had my two girls the said ceaser was the best option for me, and I loved them! Much easier to recover from thats for sure:) everyone is different though and not one delivery is the same.

A friend of mine had a c section due to being scared of giving vaginal birth. She said it felt weird when they cut her open. She was in pain after but did fine. I had vaginal birth with my first and it was painful but im doing it again! Right after he came out I felt no pain. at home I was back to normal..just a little sore.

Had terrible vaginal due to posterior position and having another vaginal with better luck hopefully! I would never choose surgery. Why complicate your life?

I had a c section yesterday and it wasn't bad for me , it was a last minute thing because my labor stopped progressing , but I'm up and walking around , my bleeding has slowed down a lot  , I only  bleed when I breast feed , yes u move a lil slower but Its not that bad and for pain they have me on percocet and motrin which is a very good pain reliever

I had a great experience with my csection and am having my second later this year, but I'll never have a vaginal delivery so can't compare whats better.

I had three c section and did great with all and next month another one... was up and walking the next day yea a little pain but it was fine..

I had a csection with my first by no means what I wanted. I would never choose that over natural. Im trying a vbac this pregnancy.

C section is fast. But you take long time to heal from it and it's hard to move around.  Even with pain killers.

I've never had the opportunity to choose but what I will say is a c - section has longer recovery time. I was on my feet after a day with normal delivery. I had a c - section like surgery when I had an ectopic and I was out of commission for a week and a half. I'd rather do vaginal.  I hear people talk about infections with c - sections too
