getting induced at just 34 weeks. pprom

I'm currently in week 33 and half. I had multiple ultrasounds to check out the amniotic fluid levels as it has been lower than normal since week 20. Last Wednesday I was told that the fluid was very low and need to be admitted to get iv fluids in hope of getting the fluid levels up. However, the fluids went even lower and now the plan is to induce me in a few days as the water has broken ( preterm premature rupture of the membrane). I'm very nervous about getting induced and then learning in the middle of labor that I might have to do a c-section. I heard that a lot of cases where they start the induction ends up with a c-section at the end especially in preterm and first time birth cases (I'm both). I do want what the best outcome results for my baby girl but at the same time very nervous about the whole thing as its my very first. I was just wondering if there is anyone who have or had any similar situations here.

Inducing tends to be a stronger pain than normal labor, but it's nothing you can't handle. I was induced at 35 weeks and not dilated or effaced at all. Same reasons as you. My fluid was very low. I was able to deliver vaginally. Ypur baby might have to spend some.time in the hospital. My son was in for about a month, but baby girls tend to be so much stronger and do so much better early. My advice is if you are okay with getting an epidural, don't fight it. Once I got mine I was able to relax enough that I finally started dilating. My labor was long but when it came time to push I pushed for 15 minutes and he was out!

I loved it lol call me crazy but it was an amazing experience for me even the pain I loved every second of my labor maybe not pushing to much but still loved it...

Let your body.do its.own thing i walked, did squats and had sex up until I was "induced" I went from a fingertip to 2cm dilated in 3.days without me taking anything to induce my labor.and when.I was admitted.to the hospital they put cervidil and.in 12 hours of contractions I went.from 2.to 4cm and an hour later I was at 5cm they started.pitocin but.before.the pitocin did anything I was ready to push I did get an epidural at 8cm but my labor was amazing all I needed.was a.boost and.it.happened.with  cervidil my body did.it naturally only 6 hours of labor with 2 of pushing,
I'm a first time mom as well and my doctor couldn't believe I didn't go crazy and stayed calm but I personally think the earlier you get the epidural the better that way you can relax and rest before the big part comes and right before you push ask them to turn your epidural off if you want to feel it when you push, my doctor doesn't let you push with you're epidural so he actually turns it off and let's you g feel the contractions again. I got mine at 8cm and only rested half an hour because in that half hour I dilated to 10 cm and honestly I was extremely exhausted when pushing time came that's the only thing I wish I had fine sooner is get my epidural sooner instead of the iv meds because that made it worse for me

Well, first just breathe! It's going to be ok! They've caught the problem now, and soon you'll be meeting your baby! Try not to freak out about a c section.  Just take it a step at a time. Sometimes when they are small, it's better in the end. But keep advocating for yourself and ask whatever questions you have. Make your wishes known, and relax. Stress doesn't help you dialate! Talk to your bubs, let baby know you're in this together and everything will be OK. You aren't a statistic, remember that!
