Anyone know if when applying for mat leave in canada will working say 40 hrs a week between 2 part time jobs compared to a full time job affect what you will receive? I currently work full time but hate my job and hrs are not really available. Right now I'm getting only 30 hrs. I'm having a great pregnancy and can fully work so I want to work as many hours ad possible....

As long as you have the required amount of hours within the 52 weeks prior to going onto maternity leave (which is 600 hours) then you will meet the EI requirements. As for working two jobs and what you will recieve, I am a nurse so I work rotation type hours so I was worried about what I would get too as some pay periods are bigger than others. If your pay fluctuates they get you to look through your past years weeks of income and write down your highest paid 20 weeks through the year. It is a little time consuming but I just spoke with EI yesterday and by doing this method it got me the full amount for EI. The application online takes forever to fill out and just make sure you answer everything right the first time as they like to make you wait forever for approval. Hope this helps. Good luck :-)
