Has anyone had one before?
How long did it take to heal and for you to feel normal again?
How long till you started walking again?
Were you able to breatfeed your baby and carry baby?

I was up 5 hours after c section and carrying him after about 7. Get up as fast as you can you heal faster. I can't breastfeed so can't help you there.

Ive had two c-sections both of my boys were very healthy and i was up moving around the next day. I also nursed them both and its not hard to hold your baby after surgery. I would suggest using a pillow when nursing, it helps with support and makes it easier to nurse. Hope it helps best of luck to you.

I remember having to walk around after my c section and that was a little bit painful I'm trying to set up and trying to lay down and get comfortable can be a pretty nerve-wracking however I did not have any trouble holding my son and he was 9 pounds 6 ounces. I did not breast feed. They would not let me leave the hospital until I had a bowel movement which kept me 3 days.....

I think it depends on the persons ability to deal with discomfort and pain at their own level . I did not find it difficult at all to care for my child during my cesarean recovery. I wish you the best of luck during the remainder of your pregnancy and no matter how the baby comes it will be a happy and beautiful moment to cherish and remember.

Thanks for sharing your experiance. I havent been booked for anything yet, but due to my condition theres a 50% chance I could have one. Iv still got a couple more weeks till I find out... The recovery period seems to be so long it scares me. Iv been told that even holding your own baby will be difficult. Plus I have a very low pain threshold, and the thought of an epidural scares me. Lol

I had an emergency cesarean with my second child it took me about 2 or 3 weeks to heal I had no bleeding no pain .I started walking after about 2hours of recovery to go to the bathroom just to walk it was recommended by the doctor at the hospital I breast fed my child it was not difficult just try not to put pressure on the affected area. remember every woman is different and recovers at her on time so just take it easy and do at the doctor recommends.

My first was an emergency c section. I felt "normal" after about 2-3 weeks. ( mostly bleeding) soreness wasn't as bad after the first week. Just make sure you work those muscles as much as possible. I was up walking that night after I had my daughter. The most painful part for me was getting up from a lying down position. But once i worked those muscles it eased off a lot. I didn't breastfeed so I can't give any insight on that. Is this your first c section?
