The baby cannot catch them inside the womb. Your immune system would fight it off before it got to your baby. Im pretty sure u can only catch it once.
Baby will be fine as long as you have had them already that's what doctor told me when my daughter had them
as long as you're immune to it since you got it as a child nothing to worry.. i was misdiagnosed of having german measles before i found out i was pregnant then after missing my period had to take the rubella titer to check if i did had german measles.. turns out i was immune to it so it wont affect my baby..thats what my doctor said.. still, its best to ask your doctor..
I thought they had vaccinations for chicken pox now a days.. Ur son didn't get it?
You and your unborn baby are immune
There is a vaccination but is not given routinely in the UK. And i don't think you can get it wen you're pregnant. Thanks ladies i thought I'd be ok
I had it three times growing up. You can still get it. My son was vaccinated and he got a mild case. He had them on his back side of his body. Only half his body too.
Guys!!!! You're wrong! Chicken pox is dangerous to prego women and fetus!!!! Look at the CDC website and it's recommendations! U need to separate from your son asap, even if u have been vaccinated. Baby can get birth defects and mom can get very sick, even chance of death!!!! Call doc and get son our of the house! Centers for disease control website. Excellent info and valid site. Good luck dear!
If you had chicken pox you are immune, you don't get them more than one. Most of those cases there is misdiagnosis.
Arnt chicken pox contagious up to 10 days before the spots appear? If thats the case there would be no point separating my son from me now. Chances are if he's going to pass it to me he already has am i right?
You can get chickenpox more than once its rare but it happens I would just wait for the doctor to tell you what to do. I have had chickenpox twice and so did my sister. They are very dangerous if you get them more than once. I would see if someone could take your son till the doctor gets back to you since while your pregnant your immune system isnt as strong.
That is right, it is most contagious before the spots appear. But I still wash your hands a lot and don't let him sleep in your bed. Once the fever goes down he is no longer contagious. Hopefully his case moves quickly, young kids bounce back quickly. I had chicken pox when I was two, I don't even remember it.
Drink even more water than usual, take your vitamins. If you get a fever go to the doctor
It is true most people only get it once, and most of the time u won't get it if u've been vaccinated. .. but there are exceptions and both happen. I work at a hospital and once prego am not allowed in rooms with chicken pox patients at any stage bc of risk to me and baby, hospital policy. U will probably be fine as it's rare but safest bet is separation.
