Talk to your doctor about what to do next. Unfortunatly chicken pox are contagious before the spots appear so you have been exposed to it without knowing and you don't have to get them for baby to get them so make sure you talk to your doctor!

They were vaccinated that's why I was positive my oldest had what we thought was poison ivy. Then my youngest of woke up today with a bunch.of spots and my oldest has a huge blister on his ear. I guess it could still be poison ivy w my oldest and just a coincidence. But its def. Not hand foot mouth I'm a rn so I know what that's like. My only issue was I didn't know if I ever had chicken pox but I called my ob and they said I had immunity to it so I'm safe. :-) I freaked and my automatic thought was bed bugs!! So I stripped the.beds and checked a million times which was fine. Lol I guess technically they could be mosquito bites bc he hasn't developed any more over the course of the day. And non of his turned to blisters. He doesn't even really seem bothered by them. I just needed some opinions thanks ladies :-)

Chicken pox is rampent here in Ireland at the moment - my daughter had them really bad and is still marked four weeks later!

The vaccine is brand new here and nobody knows of it yet- I only found out about it when she got them.

Put bread soda into a luke warm bath to bathe the children but don't wash them with cloth or hands literally just sit them in water.

I was pregnant too but my bloodwork showed some immunity - they can also get anti-viral drugs which will protect baby.

best of luck chicken pox kids aren't fun :(

Did your kids get the varicella vaccine? I work in peds and really have never seen an active case of chicken pox. Are you sure they don't have hand, foot and mouth? Are they itching alot or just blistering? Are there blisters on their finger tips and by their mouths too?

You didn't get your babies vaccinated when they where younger.. chicken pox now a days is pretty rare I haven't heard of anyone getting it in years.. and if someone does it's shingles which is the adult type..

I had at 14/15 weeks. It was horrid, worse thing ever!!! Doctor said if you get it early in your first trimester or late in third trimester it has a chance to be dangerous. I'm 34+1 with a healthy baby girl. Always check with your doctor, but I'm sure you're fine. I pray you don't get it though. It's rough when you're an adult!

You have to speak to your doctor asap. You will require to be treated to protect your unborn child. It is super important you do this quickly.

Yeah, it isn't good unfortunately. It can cause something called varicella syndrome in the baby, which can cause low birth weight and scarring of the skin and problems with the arms, legs, brains and eyes. (according to the CDC website)  It's contagious 24-48 hours before the blisters  develop. You can't get the vaccine (if you are okay with vaccines in the first place) until after you deliver. But it is safe even if you are breastfeeding.  Is there an on call provider that you can contact? Maybe call L&D and talk to the Doc there. They can probably best advise you on what to do. Good luck mama!

Yea the only way you and baby would be immuned would be if you already had the shot as a child. My bf has shingles about a month ago and we went to the er and the dr told me I would be ok because I already had chicken pox and was vaccinated. Call l&d and see what they tell you.
