Usually in a first pregnancy most women don't start to show until around 4 months. Depending on your body type now. If you are very slim and have narrow hips it might be sooner, like a friend if mine. In the second pregnancy they say you show sooner because your uterus is already stretched. The bump doesn't get uncomfortable until the last couple months. For me at least when I had my first. It is hard to sleep, it's heavy and makes your back hurt, and you will probably waddle a bit when you walk at the end lol
It can get in the way sometimes. Like when you want to stand close to the bench when your cooking, or when you try to shave your legs or put shoes on, and of course when your in bed with the hubby. Im 17 weeks today, and its noticeable now, we have an induction cooktop, and every time I lean over to the back elements, my "bump" sets the touch panel off which is at the front, turning the whole cooktop off, this happened at least 4 times while trying to cook Christmas lunch lol!!
You still have time until you show. And yes it gets in the way and it can be painful and uncomfortable. I have bad sciatica and at times I need a heating pad bc im bed/couch ridden. So far I'm only 17w&4d and there is more pain to come lol
