My doctor told me with my first, for any soda or coffee past the 1 she allowed me, I had to match it ounce for ounce with water. And that's in addition to the amount of water you're supposed to drink daily. I couldn't give up the caffeine, was working 2 jobs and in college, so that was the alternative.
Some caffeine is ok. Like stated above 300mg is what you need to stay under. I know people who drink coffee every day and the baby is fine. Remember caffeine can be an addiction so it's important to listen to your body. Some people it's better to drink the coffee than have the withdrawls of a lack of caffeine consumption.
I have a 16oz espresso coffee every day from the local drive thru coffee shop.. It's really only 2 shots of espresso and the rest is milk. And I did it every day with my daughter to when I was pregnant with her. It's totally fine to have a coffee occasionally if you want.
I had my morning cup of coffee every morning once I got past the sick phase. I have also had decaf, which I think is fine too. Caffeine is fine in moderation. I think the recommended daily intake is like under 200 mg. I was always well below that, but I had that morning cup once I could stomach it and actually wanted it again.
Its fine to have coffee every once and awhile. The issue Drs have with it is the caffeine. But ur allowed around 300mg of it a day so if ur not a soda drinker then go ahead and have a cup. Iv had a few threwout my pregnancy and Im almost 31weeks and my lil one is just fine :-) its all about moderation hun so go get urself some coffee
