twins without history?

was just wondering if anyone has had twins and it has not tun in the family... everyone has been asking if im sure im not having twins... im only 10 week but im big already...like really big ??

I have 6 year old twins (fraternal twins, which means they are not identical & this is the most common type as it is a hereditary trait). We did not have ANY family history of twins anywhere that we could find. My doctor suggested that because I was taking prenatal vitamins for several months before I got pregnant, and conceived very quickly after stopping birth control, that I actually produced miltiple eggs causing me to conceive fraternal twins. I found out I was expecting two at around 7 weeks. Hope this helps!! And if it is indeed twins, best of luck! They're such a blessing!! Built in best buddy ;)

I didn't think I had any history of twins.  After I found out I was prego with twins (I'm 22 weeks) We did some digging.  Found out my grandma' s sister was a twin.  That's the only one we know of.  But you could be prego with identical twins- you don't have to have any family history for that type of twins.
