I had it pretty bad in my 1st trimester. Starting 3rd tomorrow and dreading it. :/
Every time I changed positions,  it got worse. Had to literally sleep sitting up. Couldn't eat a proper meal, just small snacks.
Taking Ranitidine before dinner every night helped heaps! Over the counter stuff did nothing for me. Peppermint tea helped in milder cases through the day.

Xoxo

I've had heartburn & acid reflux the whole time. My first baby didn't have it at all. Rumor is baby has lots of hair if you experience this. Try raising your arms above your head for a few minutes, or try to drink a glass of water. Those usually help me. Hope you feel better!

I don't have it, but my husband is a long time sufferer. Sleep with your head elevated, eat 5-6 small meals,  alternate liquids and solids, drink a glass of milk, use Tums, don't eat within 1-2 hours of bed.  If it continues,  tally with your doc or midwife about  prescription antacid. There are many they can give you:)

I had heartburn so bad with my first,  I would just cry because nothing helped! I couldn't eat anything except soup. They used to say that If your baby has a lot of hair you'd have a lot of heartburn was an old wives tail. My my daughter came out with a head full of jet black hair, my second baby was bald and i didn't have any heartburn. I believe that wives tail has been proven now. Anyway,  I was told that a few tums and day were fine, however I was eating them  like candy,  so my doc had me switch to Mylanta.  I'm 13 weeks along and so far no heartburn!  Yay! Best if luck to you!

Gaviscon always helped me in my first pregnancy. A cold glass of milk can also ease the heartburn
