contractions?

How do they feel? My doctor told me they are like menstral cramps and they would be easy to timed. Im 36 weeks pregnant n today I woke up with mmenstral like pain in my abdomen and back even goes down to my legs  but it doesn't go away even with resting.  It's a constant pain that dosent go away.  I do feel a occasional stabbing pain right in my pelvic but it goes away right away.  I don't know if this are contractions or just the normal aches of week 36.

With my first child I woke up at 2am and something didnt feel right. I was about 35wks, I went to the bathroom and notice some pinkish white stain we decided to go to the doctor. When I got there I was already dilated. I had no idea how labor pain felt like. Was 17 and didn't know much about it. I guess you just feel when something is not right. Best bet is go to the doc. Good luck

I would say its just normal pregnancy pain, contractions definitly come and go.  And for me it only feels like menstral pains in early labor, then the full blown contractions are different.  If it gets more painful you should call your doctor though, cause everyone is different!
