contractions at 33/34 weeks

I've had a few nights where I will have contractions (rather painful ones) two minutes apart for almost an hour, then they taper off and are gone within another hour. I have been in contact with my doctor and have instructions from her to adhere to pelvic rest and stay off my feet. Just wondering if any mom's had experienced something like this? Did you go to term, or did bubs come a bit early? I know every experience is different, just trying to get a feel for what others have had happen.

With my second one i had contractions like that and did not do any extra rest. I was induced at 28 weeks (personal choice). Each pregnancy is different,  but hope this gives you some positive information.
