contractions at 39 weeks

Hi ladies.  Can any 39 weekers describe ur contractions for me?  Everyone keeps asking if I'm having contractions and I am having strong, frequent BH but they are not painful- just tightening and sometimes discomfort across my back.  I had one legit contraction this am that lasted for a min and I had trouble breathing or moving during.  So, when u guys say ur having contractions are they BH or painful, can't breath or walk kind??? Just wondering!! Thx in advance ladies!

I'm 39 wks and i had prelabor last night. Really strong tightening that hurt. Felt like period cramps but over my whole stomach. They were every couple minutes or so. I was about to go to the hospital but then they started getting weak and far apart and evwntually stopped. Then this morning i lost my mucus plug. I hope she comes soon!

With my first, my water broke on the first day of my 39th week, and I was slowly leaking.  It didn't start hurting until they gave me stuff to I guess induce me. Those contractions will eventually stop you from doing everything! I think I kept blacking out from the pain. 8/9hrs later they finally gave me an epidural.

Bh feels like light period cramps.  Real contractions hurt so bad you can't move or think they burn and sting and I swear it feels like you're dying.. well mine did anyway lol

I read that pre labor (a little different than bh contractions) can start a week or more before real labor. It said they may be regular but change in intensity and will often go away for similar reasons to bh contractions.  I has cramping ever 7 min one night and contractions every 5 another night both times lasting more than an hour then just quit!
