cough during pregnancy

Hello everyone,  my wife is 32 week pregnant with twins. She recently got flu and hence cough.  Doctors prescribed her cough syrups but they didn't work.  I know one has to be very careful with medication during pregnancy but can anyone suggest any syrup/medicine that is okay to use and very effective?  Formula of that medicine will work best for me.  Thanks and waiting for your responses.

Very good advice from the previous two posters! Honey w/ lemon, and perhaps an herbal tea! Hope she feels better :(

If there is throat swelling, add turmeric to the mixture.

You're very welcome. Sorry about the spelling in some of my words, my phone does its own thing and I'm not touch phone friendly just yet. Good luck with the lemon and honey. It does work. Takes about 2 rounds to get relief. The lemon helps break congestion while the honey sooths. And it taste yummy.

There is a home rem. That work awesome for me when I get a bad cough. And in 100% natural. Boil a while lemon for 9 min. Cut it and juice it, then put equal parts honey. You can add hot water to it if you like, but I don't. Just straight lemon juice and honey. Repeat 2 to 3 times aday. Worked like a charm for me.
