lettibg work know

Hi ladies! I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and for you working ladies when did you let your employers know the news?  I'm surrounded by mothers of all ages so I'm not really worried just unsure of when to say anything

I told my boss at 12 weeks but probably wouldn't have said anything that soon normally. I was traveling for work at the time with another co-worker and I knew I'd end up telling her the news while traveling so I wanted to make sure my boss knew first in case it got back to her.

Maternity leave is an entire different beast. Each state I believe has different guidelines. PA gives 6 weeks for vaginal and 8 weeks c section deliveries. Pretty sure maternity and short term disability fall under the same umbrella. If you work for a company with 50+ employees then you maybe be entitled to more time off under FMLA.

Great question. This is my 1st time working while preggo and I am concerned. The doctor I work with told our boss at 8 weeks but she is salaried. I am trying to become salaried before I tell. Can you receive maternity leave if you are paid hourly? Is it a law? Looking forward to the posts on this one!
