dark skim bc of hormones?

This is primarily for hispanic and light skinned women. Have you experienced your skin getting darker? I haven't tanned at all and my skin is so dark.. I guess because of hormones. I'm half puerto rican and half Dominican and I do have medium to dark skinned toned ppl in my family. I don't get dark like this only if I'm in the sun and I haven't been. Will my skin tone go back to normal?

Yes ladies, for me it's a combination of dark patches and a darker tone overall. Don't get me wrong I love when I'm tan and get my caramel tone but this is not it in any way. I'm just dark oh and down there not a pretty sight.

I'm white but I tan easily and I haven't noticed a difference in that, but I have gotten melasma. Which is patches of darker skin that occurs because of pregnancy hormones. When I looked it up it also said that the same hormones can make your skin react differently to the son and get darker too because the hormones and sun stimulate melatonin. So I guess it's kind of the same thing. They say it goes away within a few months of giving birth, but I think if you breastfeed it may take longer because your hormone levels are still similar to the way you are when you're pregnant. The darkening on me is horrible. Because its just patches and they are on my top lip and cheek :(
