diet soda

I have been trying to limit my intake of diet soda but lately I've been craving it. I've been drinking one a day for the last week but today I've had 3. Ugh. Anyone else on here drink diet soda too? Some days are worse than others..like today.

I don't want this to turn into a debate about whether you think diet soda is bad or not...I was just curious if anyone else had a similar craving and drank diet soda. My doctor did tell me that it's fine in moderation, just like most things. I drank diet soda with both of my previous pregnancies and they were both healthy babies and are healthy kids so while I appreciate your concern, I didn't post this to hear how bad diet soda is for people.

I used to drink diet mountain dew but when I asked my dr if the aspartame in the diet soda would effect the growth of the baby she said there hasn't been any studies on it so they dont know if it could harm the baby. I just started drinking regular soda 1-2 a day then.

I liked for soda during some time in pregnancy. I had zero calorie, no caffeine Pepsi. But my husband slowly decreased buying it for me as i was pregnant. Now its almost zilch

Diet and decaf are the worse no matter if you're pregnant or not. I like fizzy drinks so it doesn't have to be soda. Maybe find a different alternative?

Diet soda is pretty bad for u. Not just when ur pregnant either. The sweetener actually attacks a certain bacteria we have in our stomachs which helps with the break down of food and fighting off harmful toxins. Pregnant or not u should always limit your intake of diet soda

Also a soda is way under 200 mg of caffeine. They will tell you on the bottle or can :)

I was told the sweatner in diet drinks are fine, but to not have sweet n low (sp). I was also told to limit my caffeine to 200 mg or less per day. I love diet mt. Dew and have one every few days. I am 33 weeks and me and baby are doing just fine :) Good luck.

I wish I could drink regular soda. It's too syrupy. I can't really describe it other than that. I drink plenty of water too so at least there's that

I would avoid diet. I would drink a regular soda the sweeteners in the diet are bad for you and I could not imagine what it might do to a unborn baby. I think I would just go with regular sugared drinks sugar is more fattening but safer health wise.

Other wise there is nothing wrong with giving in to a craving. You sound under control of the craving.

I actually developed a dislike for it.  I drink water most of the time but I use to pound diet cola.  You should look out for Coca-Cola Life.  It's in a green can sweetend with steevia and natural cane sugar.  90 calories and actually has a taste that's nice and crisp and doesn't leave a yucky filmy feeling on the back of your throat like regular cola
