I had epidurals for both of my children and will again for this pregnancy. The most I felt was a cold sensation go down my back but it was not painful at all. Compared to the contractions I was feeling it was a walk in the park. I thanked the doctor over and over again. I had no side effects or felt druggy it was just relief. I was able to relax my body and and actually talk to people. Don't worry.

Just makes the pain go away from tummy down to toes no weird side effects u feel 100% normal.  It didn't hurt to get one the contractions hurt like heck. I give so much props to the moms who go natural.

I had one with my second son....when they give it to you, you hve to sit up in the fetal position(so they can see your spine) You feel a slight burn when they inject it (only last for a few seconds). I was numb from under my brest all the way down, I couldn't lift my feet to push! For me it wore off shortly after the delivery, ( I was up walking to the bathroom).
