ecstasy and sperms

Hi,
I am an 34 year old man. We have just learned that my wife is pregnant (5 weeks). When we look at our calendar we see that the sexual relationship is at 8th June night which most possibly caused the pregnancy. I have used two ecstacy pills at the midnight which connects 4th June to  5th June. (This was a rare condition and I do not normally use drugs. The previous one which I has used was 2 months ago). You may think that there are three days between the ecstascy usage and the sexual relationship.

My question is: Did the pills made any harm to my sperms and effect the babies health ? Can this situation give any harm to our baby ? Can there be any problem ? Can this cause any birth defect or any negative condition ?

I am so sad about this coincidence because pills or alcohol or ony other material is not a part of my life. I am so sad and worried. If you answer my question I will be so happy. Thanks in advance.

Your sperm is actually made about 3 months in advance.  So what you took on the night would make no difference.

Thank you for your answers very much. Since sperm cells take 3 months to mature and also 50 million sperms are released during ejaculation there seems to be no problem. I hope our baby is fine. If something bad happens because of these pills I will never forgive myself.

Does anybody know if ecstacy has negative effects on sperms ? On DNA of sperms ? For example does the chronic ecstacy male users face any problems ?

New ones are being made every day, yes, but sperm cells take 3 months to mature, and only mature sperm can fertilise an egg.

Um, going through Fertility process, sperm are made every day if you are ejaculated regularly.  I would talk to the doctor about it.  Alcohol doesn't affect them like that so I would just ask the doc.  Plus, a normal man has over 50 million sperm release during ejaculation so, I'm sure it will probably be fine. But none of us are docs, so please ask yours!
