The only food I avoid while pregnant is mold ripened cheese.

Yes its totally fine as long as you eat it fresh, but that goes for any food while pregnant as to not risk the possibility of a virus or bacteria.

If you make fresh egg salad and eat it right away you don't have to worry about it! Enjoy (:

I would talk to you doctor the problem is that if your egg salad gets contaminated with a bacteria called Listeria refrigeration will not slow it's growth unlike salmonella and e.coli...because your immune system is compromised during pregnancy you are 20 times more likely to get sick from Listeria and it can cross the placenta and hurt your baby...that is why they say no lunch meat unless heating until steaming...you would be safe if you heat your egg salad until steaming but that sounds kinda gross...most likely you can eat your egg salad and never get sick but there is a small risk you should be aware of

Eggs are fine if you cook them all the way and store bought mayonnaise doesn't have raw eggs. Is egg salad something you aren't supposed to have? I never heard it was bad?
