Membrane Sweep?

Today I am 40w2d and yesterday my doctor did a membrane sweep (Ouch!!) I had some cramping and light bloody show afterwards and now today just some more mild cramping but no real contractions.

I'm 1.5cm dilated and 70% effaced.

Does this mean it didn't work? Is there still a chance I could go into labor tonight or tomorrow? Anyone have this done to them before??

It was very uncomfortable.. but mind you it's only like a minute and a half of pain. Can't be worse than contractions or labor!  When you reach 40weeks you start to get desperate

Yes, I really don't want to be induced. I wanted to go as far as I could without an epidural but I'm scared pitocin will just be to strong and hard to start off with.

I just didn't know if anything could still happen even with 24 hours of barely any signs?

Had my sweep done on Wednesday and have lost my plug and had a bloody show but that's it. I'm so frustrated I've tried everything.  Nothing is working.  Dr says no baby by Monday I get induced and I don't want that :(
