exercise and cramping

I've been swimming to exercise because walking hurts too bad. I love swimming and loved exercising hard before I got pregnant. I've been getting more in shape and the past two times I went swimming I felt like I wanted to push myself to get more out of my workout, I did push myself a little harder and started to get period-like cramps that lasted for a few hours after my workout. The first time I thought it was just abdominal muscle pain, but after it happened again today I'm feeling unsure. I'm a ftm 26 weeks with twins. Any exercising mommies out there with experience? I want my body to be strong for labor, but certainly don't want to cause my babies harm or make them come early. Is cramping normal for braxton hicks contractions? I emailed my Dr to see what he says, but I'd love some input.

I totally know how you feel. I got pregnant at my tiniest and fear I will never get that back. I still exercise,  but walking and light weights. I used to run, but I remember to listen to my body and just stick to fast walking.

Thank you Jasminelove. I guess I just need to take it a little easier even though mentally it's a little tough to do so. I love the feeling of exhaustion after a good workout and I just can't wait for my babies to get here so I can start to workout like I did before. Good luck to you and thanks for your input!

Hello i am a work out nut lol and ive experienced this a bit as well. I still walk and lift weights but lower weights with higher reps. My dr. Said listen to my body . But ive stopped pushing my hard since i started feeling him move and he is moving up its harder. But listen to your body even if your mind wants to do more . I wanna be strong too thats why i still am working out and they say its easier to lose after :)
