experienced moms who've had c sections.

I'm a first time mom having my c section on January 2nd. Could you please tell me your experiences & answer some questions for me? I'm really nervous

How long does the surgery take?

How long did it take for them to sew you up after they took baby out?

Were you too drugged out to hold your baby afterwards?

How bad is the pain?

Do you get a catheter?

How long was your healing time?

How does a spinal tap work?

& Any other thing

I am so sorry to hear you have to plan a c-section. My first was planned at 39 weeks because my son was breech. The whole surgery took maybe 45 minutes. You should be fine after to hold and nurse your baby if that's in your plan. Pillows on the tummy help a lot while holding/feeding/laughing/coughing. The recovery ***** because they only give you enough pain meds for three days once you leave and they cause constipation. So remember to take colace and drink lots of water. Get up and walk ASAP after the surgery. That will lower your chances for blood clots and other complications after the surgery. Make sure you have someone who can come help often at the house or stay with you for at least two weeks after. You shouldn't carry anything heavier than your baby for at least that long. remember it is a major surgery so take it easy afterwards.  Best of luck to you and your new bundle.

You should do just fine! Just breathe and try to stay calm. It's easy and fast and after baby comes out everything else is a blur. I can't wait to do it all again in just a few short months to meet my baby girl.

O and they almost had my son out of me before I even knew they had started... Lol they where talking and said he's almost out and I was like what?? You already started. Sometimes they have to push on you to get the baby out and it can be uncomfortable not always but it can be.

It takes like 5 min to get baby out.

40 ish min to sew up.

Depending on if you get to stay awake or be put out. I have had both being awake is just fine.

Pain isn't bad unless you don't take the meds like they tell you.

Catheter yes.

Healing time depending on the women but you should be completely no pain what so ever by 3 months.... It's typically much much sooner.

They take a needle and kinda dig around ur spine till they hit the spot that numbs you. Not going to lie it can be uncomfortable.

It's really not that bad especially if it's planned csec. My unplanned sucked but my planned on was awesome. Hold ur belly after when you sneeze, cough, laugh, poop... It will hurt so be careful. Take it slow for a about a month until you know you can take it. I have and know some women that have tried to walk too far too fast and regretted it later. Good luck!

Sorry the app wouldn't let me finish. It kept jumping to the top.

Basically I would like all the information you ladies have on how your c sections went. I'm scared to death & I guess it didn't help that I've looked up a video on c section & watched them cut a a lady open.
